On August 8, 2019, the President approved the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. A common and consistent National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is required for admission to undergraduate medical programmes at all medical schools, including those that are subject to other laws, according to Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. As a result, NEET will also be used to determine admission to the MBBS programme at AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER, and any institutions that are similar to AIIMS. (2019 NMC Act)

The Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, will get All India Rank from NTA in addition to conducting the entrance exam, announcing the results, and soliciting online applications.
