MAHARAJ SAYAJIRAO UNIVERSITY OF BARODA ANNOUNCE PhD ADMISSION
- PET EXEMPTED CANDIDATE: The candidates who have qualified in national/ state level competitive examination such as UGC-CSIR / NET / SET / GATE*** / GPAT / DBT / ICMR / JRF holders are exempted from appearing in PET.
- Such candidates are requested to contact respective department directly, for the enrollment and registration for Ph.D.
*** Candidates should have valid GATE Score / Scorecard for exemption from appearing in the PET.
- 12th Ph. D. Entrance Test will be conducted on Sunday, 16th July 2023.

Examination Fee
- Rs. 1500/- - General / General-EWS / SEBC Non-creamy layer) Candidates.
Rs. 1000/- - SC / ST / Transgender / PWD(PH/VH) Candidates. - Processing charges & Goods and Services Tax (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.
Written Test (Multiple choice questions )- OMR Based Offline
- Paper I will cover the UGC syllabus of research methodology with 50 multiple choice questions and all are compulsory. Each question carries 1 mark thus the total marks in Paper I will be 50.Paper II will be subject specific and will contain 50 multiple choice questions and all are compulsory, each question carrying 1 mark. Thus the total marks in Paper II is 50.Calculators, Log tables, any other calculating devices, mobiles, smart watch, smart devices, slide rule, text manuals etc are NOT allowed in the examination hall.
Standard for qualifying PET
The qualifying marks for Paper I & Paper II will be 50% of those obtained in Paper I and Paper II separately.
There will be no negative marks for wrong answers.
The validity of PET Certificate shall be forever.
Eligibility for PET:Only those candidates are eligible to appear in the PET who have completed / are studying in the final year or semester of a UGC specified Master’s degree.
General / General-EWS Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC are eligible for PET. The Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / PwD (PH - Physically Handicapped / VH - Visually Handicapped) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for PET.
Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing in the final year / semester at the qualifying Master’s degree examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for PET. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for PET only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks in case of General / General-EWS (50% marks in case of Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / SC/ST/PwD(PH/VH) category candidates). Such candidates must complete their Master’s degree examination within two years from the date of declaration of result of PET with required percentage of marks, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.
